Abstract Texile I

The aim of this project was to give known unconventional materials a new design language with the help of textile techniques. By changing the appearance and haptic of the materials they are put into a new context and hint at new areas of applications. The finished textiles combine in itself the properties of the material and the production technique.

The metallic foil known and used as “Space Blankets” is transformed using a traditional textile production method. The outcome is a surprisingly refined and high quality textile that, despite its rigidness, has a very fluid appearance. As an interior design element, it plays with light, translucence and reflection. – 2020
